The International Center for Law and Religion Studies is an academic institution and a global leader in contributing to expertise in the field of law and religion. Its mission is to help secure the blessings of freedom of religion or belief for all people by 1) expanding knowledge and expertise, 2) building networks of experts, and 3) contributing to law reform.
Scholars at the Center specialize in comparative and international law concerning religion; they have vast worldwide experience and numerous language skills in addition to subject matter expertise in law and religion. One of the chief operating principles of the Center is collaboration with other organizations. The Center regularly partners with leading universities, NGO’s, and governments around the world to organize – or more precisely, co-organize – conferences, seminars and workshops. These activities help build the intellectual infrastructure necessary for the adoption, protection, and implementation f sound legal policies concerning religion and religious freedom.
As part of the respected J. Reuben Clark Law School, Brigham Young University, the Center partners with universities and organizations in dozens of countries each year to build the field of law and religious studies.
